"There Is No Way To Live On Earth."

Please play:
Blak Moth Super Rainbow - Colorful Nickels
from the top of my page.

From a book I am currently reading that I can't put down, even though I need to because I'm in finals...
[talking about the Public]

"...They are incapable of conceiving of such thing as abstract science. They can judge it only in terms of the latest gadget it has produced for them.... The public has been demanding economy. In times like these, when their fat little comforts are threatened, you may be sure that science is the first thing men will sacrifice. This is the only establishment left. There are practically no private research foundations any longer. Look at the greedy ruffians who run our industries. you cannot expect them to support science."

"... Believe me, there is no way to live on earth. Men are not open to truth or reason. They cannot be reached by a rational argument. The mind is powerless against them. Yet we have to deal with them. If we want to accomplish anything, we have to deceive them into letting us accomplish it. Or force them. They understand nothing else. We cannot expect their support for any endeavor of the intellect, for any goal of the spirit. They are nothing but vicious animals. They are greedy, self-indulgent, predatory dollar-chaser who-"

These are just a couple of short quotes from the book, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, of many that hit the nail on the head about our world today, even though this book was published 1957. I often times feel like I am alone in thinking about how fucked up this world is. Everyday I see something new or something that attaches to another on-going thing that amazes me. Whether it's how stupid and naive people can be or the topics they choose to display on the news. I often times get angry at people that don't think for themselves, can't make a decision with using logic, or plain and simple, how often people believe everything they see and/or hear... no matter what source they got it from. I also get mad at the people who "Leave it to God" (religion is another topic for another day...) or who trust in our government. People are too closed minded and too comfortable with how things are. Many people are not fond of change and I think that's unfortunate. This world needs a big change and people are not willing to do it. They are too scared of the unknown of where the world is headed, yet they all believe in the unknown/non-provable and are fine with following that and practicing it daily. This baffles me, quite often. How can one believe in something that is often times proven wrong, by science or by fault of keeping the same story. The public is an amazing species... we should all observe closely and take notes.
